Terms and Conditions

Prior to making any bookings, please read the relevant information accompanying that service to ensure that the training you book is suitable for you and your dog.  Please also read our FAQs, book a free discovery  call or failing that, email us if you have any questions.  All training is payable in advance to complete your booking, you can use a credit card, debit card, Paypal or bank transfer (to pay via bank transfer you will need to email us for a booking form).   By making a booking you confirm you have read and agree to these terms and those stated in our FAQs.

Rolling Join Anytime Package Classes:  Where we have classes that can be joined anytime as a package of 4, 6, 8 or 12 weeks, payment must be in advance , once received we will be in touch within two business days to book in your dates (if you have specific dates in mind, please email us and if available, we will confirm those dates back to you).  As class numbers are limited, we will not hold places open, all dates of the package must be booked in advance as a block booking, however we will allow up to two dates to be rescheduled following which, you will be charged a £5 administration fee.   As these classes are rolling start dates, your first class will be delivered to you as an online presentation that will include eBooks and Game cards so that you can join the next class having already received the foundation lesson, this means your in person lessons will be the the number of weeks you have selected minus the one that is held online (i.e. 8 week package will be 1 class online & 7 classes in person).  For classes that start on set dates, the foundation class is done in person.

Students attending one of our set block booking classes, rolling class and transformation packages will receive access to an online course area.  This supports the information covered in class (in person & virtual) and therefore a minimum number of classes need to be attended to continue to receive access. These minimum terms are as follows 4 week classes - Minimum 3 week attendance; 5 week classes - Minimum 4 week attendance; 8 week classes - minimum 7 week attendance and 12 week classes - minimum 10 week attendance.  The app information is NOT a standalone course but instead supports all information we give you in our sessions together.  It is our responsibility as trainers to ensure that your technique is correct and that we troubleshoot any areas required to ensure that your dog is not learning an incorrect techniques that could potentially set you back.  If you would prefer not to attend classes, please book onto a virtual class or a transformation package. PLEASE NOTE: There is no course platform for pay as you go classes or workshops.   When your training ceases, you will continue to receive access to the platform for a period of 2 months, after which, the platform will be closed and access denied, should you wish to continue your access after this period you can do so for a small monthly access fee of £5 (if you continue your training with us in any way, you will continue to keep access for the duration).  All Membership subscribers will get FULL  access to ALL information for the duration of their subscription, this will be immediately withdrawn on cancellation of their membership.

Once you have completed the booking process you will receive confirmation and a detailed questionnaire that we ask ALL our students to complete and return to us.  PLEASE NOTE: Places on our courses are limited and your place will not be secure until payment is received.

Risk Free Booking

We want everyone that books with us to be excited about their upcoming training and be eager to attend but we understand that sometimes we can book things in the excitement of the moment and then have a change of heart so for this reason we offer a risk free option of a full 7 days to really mull it over and receive a full refund  (minus any processing fees) if you decide that the training you have booked is not for you.  It is important to understand though that if your booked training falls within that 7 day period - we are sorry but we cannot offer a refund so close to the event.

But, if you are within 7 days of booking, and the event is more than 7 days in the future, and you do decide that you wish to cancel, please email us within our 7 day “mull it over” period and we will happily refund you right away.

Cancellation

Please note we operate a no refund policy outside of our “mull it over” period for all bookings.

One to One Sessions

Depending on the training required, one to one sessions may be held at the client's location, a secure venue/field (at additional cost to the client) or out in the environment with access to the general public.  It is essential that the client follows the instructions of the trainer at all times without fail.  It is also essential that the client treats the trainer with respect at all times, any behaviour deemed abusive by the trainer will result in a termination of the contract without refund.  All other points listed under the classes section below such as Client Responsibility; Photo & Video use and General points also apply.

Classes

All our classes are designed to be fun and informative for both you and your dog.  As students, we give you amazing value in our classes and via the platform.  If we offer any bonuses for enrolling, the offer is only applicable for those that enrol, pay for and attend classes.

Clients Responsibility

1) The client is solely responsible for any and all harm or damage caused by their dog(s) while it is under the care of Dogwarts K9 Academy, or using any other service provided by Dogwarts K9 Academy and agrees to indemnify Dogwarts K9 Academy in full against any liability arising from such harm or damage to third parties.  Please see point 6 below regarding the wearing of muzzles.

  • 3) You must remain outside the premises until we invite you in and keep the doorway clear for safe exit of attendees of previous classes.
  • 4) Not all dogs are comfortable in close proximity to other dogs or people, we therefore insist that all attendees are respectful of other handlers and their dog’s space.  Do not approach other dogs, or allow your dog to approach, without prior consent of their handler. If any dog or person appears uncomfortable, please help them with their training and give them more space.
  • 5) In some cases, we may use demo dogs to aid training. You will be responsible for keeping your dog a sufficient and safe distance from the demo dog at all times and if asked, will need your dog to wear a muzzle during these sessions.
  • 6) We do not accept any dogs with a bite history to attend our classes - This includes our Reactivity Classes, all dogs with bite history are specifically one to ones only.  If you are concerned that your dog may become aggressive with another living being, it is essential that you inform us and have your dog muzzled.  You understand that failing to adhere to this rule, holds you solely responsible for your dog's actions.   If we feel your dog is a danger to themselves, others (dogs or humans) you will be asked to leave without refund so please be transparent and contact us if you have concerns about your dog's behaviour.
  • 7) Wear appropriate clothing for dog training and the weather conditions as when possible we may take the class outside, we also advise that you use window shades for your car during hot weather.

If in doubt about your dog’s health please consult a veterinarian and stay away from class until cleared by your vet.  Any owners that have let their dog's vaccinations expire understand that they have done so at their own risk and agrees to indemnify Dogwarts K9 Academy in full against any liability regarding the health of their dog.

  • j) The trainer will apply personal judgement and cut short a session, if necessary, because of extreme weather conditions; including, but not limited to: excessive heat (over 25 degrees), torrential rain, thunder storms and snow/ice. The decision to do so lays with the judgment of the trainer, for the safety of themselves, members of the public, other animals and that of the recipient.  Where possible, the class will be held online instead.  If the roads are too bad to access the venue, the class will be rolled over to an alternative date or held online - refund of the session will be a last resort and will be at the discretion of Dogwarts K9 Academy.
